| Welcome to Republic City's Pro-Bending Area! This is the place where you role-play as yourself with your team and compete against other teams in the bending sport that was introduced in The Legend of Korra! In order to properly compete, you must follow the Pro-Bending guidelines issued by the PBA (Pro-Bending Association). Index General Pro-Bending Rules Air Bender Rules Water Bender Rules Earth Bender Rules Fire Bender Rules Penalties

| General Pro-Bending Rules 1. All WLL rules apply here.2. This IS a form of role-play! Respect and understand that this is a form of role-play. You are role-playing yourself as a bender. 3. Read all of the posts in this thread, because they have important information that you need. This includes reading all the Bender Rules for each bending discipline so you can recognize if you, your teammate, or opponent is breaking a rule. 4. Role-players and members of the RPG must be active members or participants of non-RPG areas of WLL. Nobody likes a game where you aren't active and the game dies off. If you aren't active or your teammate is active, you forfeit the round/match. 5. No god-modding or meta-gaming allowed.God-modding Definition- Spoiler:
Taking control of another person's character on a role-playing forum or chatroom. Sometimes done by mistake, when a player believes another player's character was doing something they weren't.
Ex: Player A: Air Punches Player B Player B: Dodges attack, grabs Player A and blasts him with fire. Player A flies straight out of the ring. Meta-gaming Definition: - Spoiler:
The act of using outside or previously gained knowledge within a gaming universe for personal gain or advantage.
Essentially having your character know information that hasn't come up yet within the confines of the role-playing game. You, the one at the computer might know something, but that is you, not your character. Do not confuse the two. You may be playing a character and this may be a role-playing game based off of you, but your bender self may not know things you personally do know. 6. Keep OOC talk in role-playing posts to a minimum and in spoiler tags to keep the role-playing boards clean.7. The referees are here to watch the games and make sure the rules are followed. They also call the shots, call penalties, etc. They are the deciders of the game, just like real life sports referees. 8. If you will be absent, please post a notice of your absence. If you will be gone longer than 5 days, than please find a role-player to NPC your character(s) during your absence. This should be arranged before your absence.

| Air Bender Rules 1. Each gust of air must not exceed one second in duration. Meaning that Airbenders may not use constant streams of air against their opponents. We do not need opponents smothered. 2. No direct air strikes toward an opponent's head are permitted. Air can be strong and powerful, ensuing in a dangerous result. 3. Airbending pro-benders are not restricted with how they manipulate the air since conjuring air comes from all around and you cannot limit such a source.

| Water Bender Rules* (*Taken from Avatar Wiki) 1. Each water blast cannot exceed one second in duration. Meaning that Waterbenders may not use any form of a constant hose-like stream of water against their opponents. 2. Water must be used in its liquid state. Not as a gas or a solid, meaning that steam, fog, and ice are prohibited in game play; it cannot be filled with anything, such as earth. 3. Water is the only element for which head strikes are allowed.4. Waterbenders can only access water within their zone, specifically from the metal grates directly in front and behind the zone that the player is currently occupying. 5. Water may only be pulled up from the zone lines, and not from any outside sources, such as the water below the ring.

| Earth Bender Rules* (*Taken from Avatar Wiki) 1. No direct earth strikes can be aimed toward an opponent's head. 2. Though the ring is comprised mostly of canvas-covered metal, no metalbending is permitted. Earthbenders may only bend earth in its raw form, and not as sand or dust. 3. Earthbenders are restricted to bending regulation rock discs supplied through the floor of the ring, and may only bend discs from their own zone. 4. Rock discs may not be broken down intentionally into smaller pieces, though the bending of several discs at one time is allowed. Players may ricochet or deflect discs off the side ropes, like air hockey. |

| Fire Bender Rules* (*Taken from Avatar Wiki) 1. Each fire blast must not exceed one second in duration. Meaning that Firebenders may not use constant flamethrower-like streams of fire against their opponents. 2. No direct fire strikes toward an opponent's head are permitted. 3. Firebending pro-benders are not restricted with how they produce their own flames since conjuring fire comes from within, not from an outside source. |

| Penalties* (*Taken from Avatar Wiki) Penalties include: - Disobeying WLL's Pro-Bending Rules - Stepping over a line when the proper conditions have not been met. -"Unnecessary roughness", such as holding a continuous blast of an element against a fighter. This will cost the offender a one-zone penalty. - In addition, intentionally hitting the referee, the referee stand, or the audience stands with an element is considered a violation. - Though unlikely, pro-benders are not permitted to hit the roof of the arena with bending. - Players who intentionally break a rule may be shown a yellow fan as a warning. - Repeat offenders may receive a red fan after receiving a yellow fan, ejecting them from the match. The team with the ejected player must continue without a replacement. |
